The two Governance Projects of the Interreg Euro-MED Mission on Enhancing the Sustainable Tourism, and namely Community4Tourism – represented by Barcelona Provincial Council (DIBA) and Dialogue4Tourism – represented by the Ministry of Transport of Cyprus – took part in the MedCat Days initiative with the slogan “Transforming the Mediterranean” held in Barcelona on 12 and 13 June 2023.
Organised by the Ministry for Foreign Action and European Union of the Government of Catalonia and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), with the collaboration of the Alliance for Mediterranean Cooperation (MedCoopAlliance), the MedCat Days 2023 offered a space for meeting and dialogue, as well as for advocacy and visibility, at the service of the actors of Catalan external action in the Mediterranean.
The Community4Tourism and Dialogue4Tourism projects contribution was framed in the session Governance and Euro-Mediterranean territorial cooperation aiming at presenting the shift of paradigm that the Mission on Enhancing Sustainable Tourism of the Interreg Euro-MED programme is working on. The debates were in fact focused on analyzing the collaborative and transformative governance dimension of the Euro-Mediterranean programmes, the new perspectives and opportunities that they will bring us, the impact and the new alliances and synergies it favours.
