25/05/2023

All the Missions of Interreg Euro-MED were presented together with the Joint Secretariat of this Programme in the 4th Working Group on Environment and Climate Change of the Union for the Mediterranean last 24th May in Sitges (Barcelona). The main objectives of this session were to share updates on regional initiatives, programs and projects and to reflect on how the UfM WG on Environment and Climate Change feeds the global, regional, national agendas and supports in advancing thematic activities at all levels, thus further promoting a coordinated approach with other UfM relevant agendas (blue economy, water, energy, research and education, etc) and within the upcoming international gatherings such as November 2023 UN Climate Change Conference COP 28 in the UAE and 2024 UN Biodiversity Conference COP16 in Turkey.

Following the representative of the Joint Secretariat Christophe Maier’s presentation on the Program’s architecture, the Missions were introduced to member countries of the UfM Working Group on Environment and Climate Change, as well as stakeholders from the broader UfM Environment and Climate Change Community.
