Join the Med featured in the Tourism Transition Pathway

11/12/2025

Join the Med, the knowledge hub for sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean, now appears on the Tourism Transition Pathway platform. This step shows that the Sustainable Tourism Mission’s work goes beyond internal activities and creates tools and knowledge that serve a wider European and Mediterranean community

The Tourism Transition Pathway Platform brings together practical guidance, tools, and examples that help stakeholders plan and carry out their transition actions. It supports the exchange of knowledge across sectors and offers a shared space where communities can build partnerships, follow progress, and align their efforts with the EU’s goals for sustainability, digitalisation, and resilience.

Developed by the University of Thessaly, Join the Med offers a dynamic and open platform. It gathers insights from projects and stakeholders across the Mediterranean. It turns these inputs into interactive visualisations, maps of pilot activities, and a growing database of thematic results. Practitioners, policy makers, academics and other actors can use these resources to support sustainable tourism.

The Mission is also extending its reach through the Blueprint for tourism climate action plans, now published in the European Climate Pact’s Sustainable Tourism Resources. This publication helps the Mission share practical tools and guidance with a broader audience and supports ongoing work to promote sustainable tourism across the Mediterranean region and beyond.

These developments strengthen the Mission’s role as a catalyst for collaboration and innovation. They ensure that the knowledge generated within its community becomes a shared resource for shaping the future of sustainable tourism in Europe and beyond.
