The podcast on the Policy Brief on Small Islands as hubs for climate resilience is out!

22/01/2026

Small Mediterranean islands can become climate resilience hubs by acting as “living laboratories” where innovative sustainability solutions are tested, refined, and scaled to other regions.

The Interreg Euro-MED Sustainable Tourism Mission is implementing thematic projects directly transferable to other islands and coastal areas: LooP Zone and Recircle MED for plastic reduction and circular economy, AQUAMAN and Waterise for smart water management with rainwater harvesting and wastewater reuse via the Blue Horizons Catalgue; NaTour4CChange for nature-based solutions and regional governance using co-creation methodologies; COOL NOONS for urban heat adaptation through replicable “cool routes”; and LIBECCIO for data-driven digital tools to manage tourist flows efficiently, among other Projects with transfer potentials.
